Relevance, Relationships & Reimagining
There may not be a more critical year in modern history than 2020. COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on America’s arts sector with revenue losses to nonprofit arts and cultural organizations at an estimated $10.2 billion as of August 3, 2020. Additionally, the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and a never-ending list of innocent people of color has ignited a powerful push for racial justice and equity in all sectors, including arts and culture. 2020 is also a Census year and an election year!
What does relevance look like in the arts and culture sector given the landscape we are living in? How do we take advantage of the moment to deepen and leverage relationships with individuals and communities? How can we reimagine what our work looks like in order to best serve our community?
With the help of three change-making leaders across the country, this year’s virtual TACA Perforum symposium will explore these questions and the role arts and culture can play to increase relevance, deepen relationships, and reimagine our future.
