Join us on Tuesday, May 5 at 2pm Eastern Time for a virtual conversation about two CDP initiatives that are generating new lessons for the sector about the need for and application of cultural data. The CDP will share insights from its new report, Bridging the Capacity Gap. We will also discuss an exciting new initiative to develop and prototype data literacy resources for arts and culture professionals.

Sarah Lee, principal author of Bridging the Capacity Gap and Vice President with Slover Linett, will discuss how we convened cultural practitioners across the country to discuss their data challenges and provide an overview of what we learned. You’ll hear what 185 practitioners, across five communities, say they need to unlock the power of data in their organizations.

Andrew Taylor, Professor of Arts Management at American University and President of arts axis llc, will then share how the CDP is developing a learning resource for cultural professionals through a unique process of regional user groups, expert interviews, and prototyping. How and when do arts practitioners encounter data in their work? What real-world challenges and benefits do they find in those moments? What learning tools or approaches align best with what they need, and when they need it?
